How do you take care of Hibiscus plants?

Being from Florida I have a lot of them. It is very hard to kill one that is a couple years old. They can get frost kill and will come back. They will look dead for a while then one day you see leaves starting. I thought I lost one last year almost dug it up a few times and in July it started budding out leaves again!! I suggest you nip the top sprout on each limb often to make them bush out. They are easy to root from cuttings too. I use root tone on mine. The leaves might all fall off the cutting but after a while (sometimes a couple months) you'll see new leaves popping out. All of mine are from cutting I got from friends yards. And one from a local McDonald's. They are full light plants but will do good in partial shade also. They love water. The more you water the more they bloom.
How do you take care of Hibiscus plants?
They are easy...but make sure you provide a similar environment as they come from...Hawaii and like that. So lots of humidity and keep the soil moist. Feed the right stuff too but not too much.
Reply:Hibiscus is a prolific bloomer, however they generally last only a day or two. Just go out there and dead head them. Try these for more info.

Reply:If you live in a climate without much humidity or too cool weather, hybiscus loves to be root bound in a pot. This can be done in any weather. In the south where the afternoon sun is so unforgiving, only give them the morning sun. You have to watch out for whiteflies...which you can treat with Diazinon. Sometimes they get aphids also...which can be treated the same way. I, even in zone 9, have found that so many tropical plants love to grow in pots, like bouganvilleas.....be sure to feed, but be careful with hibsicus food when growing in a pot...too easy to burn...even when you wet the pot thoroughly, stay about 6 inches away from the main stem of the plant with that food. Any other, like Osmocote 10--10--10 slow release can't hurt anything. Have fun
Reply:I do absulutely nothing to mine, and it grows like crazy, I have to keep cutting it back. All I do is occasionally water it. I've even cut it almost to the roots, and it just keeps on going.

Maybe it just likes where it is.

Oh one problem I do have, is white fly, where it gets covered with this white stuff. I just hose it off. But it seems to keep coming back.
