How are you supposed to take care of a Hibiscus plant in the winter?

I live in zone 6 and my Hibiscus's are tropical. I bring them into my house and set them in front of south facing windows. They get a lot of heat and direct sunlight. I continue feeding and watering them and I have blooms all winter! In the spring I take them back outside and they go thru a shock. I then cut them back a little and it all starts over again! If you have an area in side you should try this. It is great to have the blooms all winter.

I live in zone 5, and I have the hardy perennial ones. I do nothing. I leave them as they are. In the spring I cut off the old branches and wait.
Reply:do you have a green house? put in in there
Reply:If it is a perennial hibiscus then all you need to do is cover it with some straw or mulch for a little added protection from hard freezes. If your hibiscus is a tropical then you need to bring it indoors.

Good Luck
