I am moving from Florida to Kentucky and I want to take my plants with me, but I do not know which ones can survive up there. I am pretty good with my plants here but I know nothing about them up there. Any advice will help. Here is a list of some of my plants so that hopefully you all can help me with what can go.
-Canna Lily
-antique rose
-bromiliads
-bouginvilla
-day lilly
-hibiscus
-winter cactus
-bottle brush tree (it's only 4 foot and I'd love to take it)
-angel and devil trumpet
-geraneums
-peace lily
-devils backbone
-several rare types of bagonias (atleast they're rare here in florida)
-rubber tree
-bleeding heart
-azaleas
Thankyou very much.
I need plant advice for my upcoming move...please help.?
I'll do the best I can here.....I'm not sure what weather zone Kentucky is, but i live in NY and we're zone 5. I'm guessing your bleeding heart, azaleas, day lilies, and roses are pretty safe. Check out the following map to determine the zone, and then look up the plants for their hardiness number.

Reply:its the same thing, care for them the way you do like always.
Reply:Many of your plants will have to be dug up in the winter or kept in the house. You need to check the zoning and then see what will survive. Many FL plants will not winter over in KY.
Reply:Just check what zone you will be in and then check the hardiness zone for the plants.
