First tattoo!!! help!!! i'm stuck on figuring out what i want!!?

i'm 18 and this will be my first tattoo. but i'm having trouble figurning out what to add to it. so far all i've figured out is that i want the words "Carpe Diem", which mean 'seize the day' in latin. i want to put it on my upper back, righ below my neck. at first i was thinking of putting a hibiscus flower above the words, but then i changed my mind. and now i'm completly stuck. if you have GOOD ideas please let me know. pictures are a good help too. thanks! :)



ps: i might go with just a flower, but i dont know what kind. or maybe something that will bring me good luck :)

This one is veryyyyyy cute. Or you could have them do it in an old english font, since its in latin. You could make it smaller for your upper back. If you did do a flower, apple blossoms are gorgeous, and they're a symbol of good luck.

Reply:You sound pretty certain about the Carpe Diem part so why don't you just start with that. You don't have to decide right away what else you want to put there. You have the rest of your life to decide, so don't force it. If your experience is anything like mine, when you know what you want, you won't have any doubts and you'll hardly be able to wait to get it done.

the question you have to ask yourself is this, why do i want a tatt, your first will be your most important, the second is where to put it my 1st was on m y upper arm, my second is bigger and is on my upper back

if you don't mind me asking why on the back of your neck?

you must think of your future where you may end up working may have a policy on visible tattoos,

you will know what you want when you see it, i did i walked IN a tattoo place saw the dolphin and thought yep, word of warning try not to go too big 1st time, it does hurt, well more like a little burn

Reply:www.bmezine.com has so many pictures of tattoos it would take you ages to go through them all. BUT they should be able to inspire you some. There's a section specifically for flowers too.
Reply:Well that's the fun about getting tattoo's. Getting one that has been picked out and/or designed by you and being absolutely certain that, that's specifically the one you want for the rest of your life.



I would offer suggestions but being a tattoo enthusiast, its hard to do. Every tattoo I have holds a meaning or story behind it, I dont look at designs and say "I want that!"



So I would say, take time... your old enough now to legally get one, and it will be with you for the rest of your life. Take time, think it over and when you've figured it out, you'll know. You'll feel in your heart that that tattoo is THE one!
