My Hibuscus plant(s) are sick..what to do?

Hello, we just moved into our house and we have a row of hibiscus plants along the side of the house. When we looked at the house, we noticed one of them had what looks like warts (kinda cauliflower looking) growing on most of the leaves. The other plants looked fine. Now the rest are starting to get it. Should I just cut them down to nothing? Is there a chemical? Thanks!

The problem you are seeing is caused by an insect. It is called gall. A very small insect has laid eggs in the leaf tissue. You can use a systemic insecticide that you can get at any garden center. This will stop the damage from going any farther. Or you can just let them go and they will hatch and maybe move on or to your other plants. Galls can happen to any kind of plant from forsythia to oak trees. Any good center will direct you to the correct chemical for the problem just tell them you need a systemic insecticide. Each state has different regulations as to what is used no doubt. If possible where you live I would get one by Ortho that is for roses. It will work well for the problem.Happy planting.
Reply:get rid of them its only a plant buy new ones
Reply:I would say its either an insect or plant disease, surely there is a spray, go to your garden center , take a few leaves with you, and show them, they should know what to do.
