Red highlights with blonde hair?

I have blonde hair and i want red highlights and I was reading in a book that hibiscus flowers will slowly dye it red but hibiscus flowers are really expensive so I need help for an at home highlighting but I dont want to go to the store and buy some cuz my mom tried that and her hair has turned purple, orange, and a BUNCH of different colors

Well, dye would work a lot better than any other home solution. Dye is pretty inexpensive anyway, like maybe 8 bux at Sally's for a bottle that would last you forever. Even if it does turn a different color, is that so bad? Red might get boring after a while, and its good to change it up!
Reply:I'm not so sure you should get red highlights. I'm blonde and if i was you I would go with something a little lighter than that. I got pink highlights and it looks really good. hope this helps,
