I need help with bedroom decor!?

I just got a new comforter that is light blue and light green with hibiscus flowers on it, does anyone have any tips on what type of accessories to hang up on the wall or spice up the room. By the way, two of the walls will be light blue and the other two walls will be white.

AAAH, no wicker! It gets dusty and groans when bumped or used!

Consider mosquito netting over you bed (available at pier 1)

Sheer curtains - sunshine is good - white

Second layer over the sheer white curtains (you may be able to find a blue or green that has white branches (or something organic) embroidered on them

Framed Pictures on the walls (try something other than black and white or hawaiian sunsets. (Try a monochromatic photo (like black and white, but in one color))

Use solid wood furniture, in a rich dark color. This will add weight to the room, try staining the baseboard to match), and have picture frames to match.

The last idea is to check out wall decals. They are usually vinyl, and can come in a variety of colors and styles. You can plant a virtual garden around your room, or whatever you want, to pull together the white and blue walls.
Reply:Are the hibiscus flowers red? Your new look sounds tropical in tone, so you could carry out this theme in your room. I think wicker accesories in white or natural would be nice. If you have room for a wicker chair, I'd put a couple of pillows on it to match the blues and greens.

You could also try some wicker wall decor - shelves, mirrors, etc.

Add candles, big conch shells, silk hibiscus flowers, real or silk ferns, etc. for a lush look.
Reply:I'm thinking you need some "dark" accents that will "pop" out. You have blues, greens, and flowers. Try some dark woods. Maybe some shelves, art work with dark frames. Think "earthy". It will warm the room, and add interest.

Also, don't forget lighting!! Well placed, and dimmable lighting can dramatically change the feel of any room! good luck!
Reply:tropical beach theme would work well

Reply:Try to embrace the theme of your focus item. The hibiscus is found in a lot of Hawaiian decors. Do not shy away from the Hawaiian theme and your room will be a smashing hit.

If you have an informal feel to the room you may want to add an old surfboard and hang it on the wall. A bright yellow one or deep blue would work great with your existing color scheme.

If formal is more your desire try some louvered panels on the wall or better yet acting as a headboard on your bed, implementing the architcetural aspects of Hawaiian decor.
