HELP...I removed some sod to plant & saw the line to my sprinkler system.?

I obtained two beautiful rosa senasis (hibiscus family) and removed the top sod carefully hoping to use it to patch bare spots. I then discovered a pipe for my sprinkler system. Fortunately I did not break it. Now I need to know is it still possible to plant the hibiscus or will the roots cut into sprinkler pipe. Please help soon!

Just adjust your planting spot to the right of left of the sprinkler pipe. I do it all the time.

The correct term is "Hibiscus rosa sinensis". Just calling it "rosa sinensis" is like calling a plant "blue". Unless it is "White Wings" that gets 20 feet tall in SoCal, you should be fine with the roots not bothering the pipe of any other variety of Hibiscus.

GHood luck :-)
Reply:No the roots are not going to "cut into" your sprinkler pipes.......although when planting large growing trees the roots can grow against and break the pipes in the future
