Hibiscus problem?

All the Hibiscuses in my care have a leaf curl and what to be small galls in their leaves..I am seeking a curative..something not too toxic as it a 25 acre Nursing Village..I suspect insect damage leading to the galling but it has infected nearly all these particular plants..I also suspect the fellow before me may have used infected tools..Any suggestions would be most appreciated.Ta.
Hibiscus problem?
Leaf curl could be frost damage. It could also be aphids, but then you should have honeydew present and you did not mention honeydew.

If it's aphids then you should keep the hibiscus well watered %26amp; properly fertilized. Do not over fertilize as this can prolong aphid infestations. Many natural controls exist for aphids. They include lady beetles, flower flies, lacewings, small parasitic wasps, and several fungus. Note that aphids paralysed by wasps puff up like a piece of kernal or puffed grain. These could be mistaken for galls. If they are paralysed aphids, try to delay pesticide applications so you do not kill the benefitial control insects as well. Insecticidal soaps and summer oils are safe controls that do not affect the parasitic wasps.

Broad spectrum insecticides can be used on severe cases of aphids. They usually are effective when applied before significant leaf curl has occurred. Imidacloprid (a systemic translocated to the leaf by the plant vascular system) can be applied as a root drench preventative 4 weeks prior to infestations in the future and will last up to a year.

Leaf galls are usually not a risk to the plant's health and, therefore, are not treated. Leaf galls are the result of an insect laying eggs. There are also a few funguses that can cause leaf curl and blisters. These are controled by fungicides, but fungicides are preventative %26amp; will not correct your problem at this stage.
Reply:Hi, I don't know what kind of Hibiscus your growing, but check for aphids. Spray them with a soap and water solution with a little bit of mouthwash .Bye
