Why is my Hibiscus blooming but has few leaves?

Which hibiscus? Is it indoors or outside? Very important to know, however, AND in general this sounds like leaf loss that could have been caused by not enough light or not enough water. THIS IS IN GENERAL as there are other causes and combinations of causes. You don't give very much information, thus a good explanation can not be arrived at.
Why is my Hibiscus blooming but has few leaves?
"Flowering of the hibiscus is induced as the days become shorter and light intensity reduces. Flowering begins in September or later depending on the country in question, and continues through October or later when the entire field is in bloom. Flowers begin to drop at the end of October or later. Flowers are diurnal and last only a day. The seedpods begin ripening towards the bottom and proceed to the top."

It's flowering because the days have become short in your area. The dropping of leaves may be a attempt by the plant to prepare for winter....also, some plants nearing death put all their energy into making flower, seeds and fruits.
Reply:it may be a small-leafed species
