Your probably taking about the perennial hibiscus...as soon as it drops it's leaves...cut down the stalks about 1-2 inches from the ground. Then next year...depending on where you live..late June where I'm at, it will break ground with new growth and be bigger than the past year. Enjoy....I love these plants.
Hibiscus care?
What about it? If you have them outdoors and live in a place other than zone 9 or 10, you probably need to bring them in the house for the winter when the evenings start to dip below 50 degrees. Trim them down a bit and bring indoors after you spray them with water good to get rid of any bugs that have settled on them. Keep them near a sunny window for the winter and then take them back outside next spring after threat of frost is over.
Reply:Tropical, blooms when HEAT and humidity levels are high. Tender annuals in anything less than zone 8.
Water, food, the usual "care". Root in water, or by cuttings and rooting hormone in dirt.
