Water thorouhly to protect roots. Water gives oof heat as it freezes and ice protects the roots.
Put a sheet over them and water the sheet. It will freeze first.
Put lights (even Christmas ones) around the plants if you think that the freeze will last. They will give off heat.

Plant in warm water.
