Hibiscus - Wilting away?

I bought a hibiscus plant abt 3 months back and planted it near some bamboo. it was doing fine till abt 2 weeks back when I noticed one of the stems had dried up. The remaining 2 looked fine. So I removed it from the ground and planted it in a pot fertlised it and thought problem was solved when I noticed the remaining stalks also appear to be drying out. It was green and healthy looking till 2 days back. Suddenly it appears to be willted. Can anyone tell me why it has happened and how I can solve the problem so that it will not dryout.

Regards

Jane

What zone are you located in??? I always recommend that people keep their hibiscus plants in pots year round. If you are in a cooler zone, you can move them inside to a spare room in the winter and let them go dormant. Water only when plant starts to wilt and do not fertilize til spring. Then put it back outside in a sunny location. Your plant sounds as if it is in shock from the transplanting. Just keep it in a very sunny location and water it only once and it should bounce back. Even if it looks almost dead for awhile it could rejeuvenate. If you are in a tropical zone, keep it outside - dont forget to let the soil dry out before you water again. good luck
Reply:It maybe dying because it has been moved so much. Or over or under watering.
Reply:try CARP its a liquid fertilizer i use it for my hibiscus trees they love it. i bye it from big w
Reply:You don't say where you're located, but if it's Southern California, you may be seeing the results of the arctic cold and freezing temps we've been experiencing. Hibicus along with all sub-tropicals are susceptible to frost damage, which looks like they have been burned with a blow torch.
