I have owned one for right at about a year now and gone through each season...
I kept my plant alive in a container of ceramic and fertilized it and watered it and kept it outside to get fresh air and sunshine all year till winter...
When winter came I put it in my greenhouse where there is warmth with a space heater and an enclosed glassed in area so it would still get sun and I even watered it over winter...
Now it is summer again here in Texas and we are having 100 degree days, and my plant looks like it wants to die with brown stems and leaves over half the plant and I think I will move it out of the sun to protect it since it is getting full sun all day...
A whole year it did fine, and now it wants to die cause it is so hot...Go figure...
And yes I did give it plant food and all the appropriate water, air and sun...
So I think to answer you, too much of an extreme either cold or hot will kill a plant...
Can an "Exotic Hibiscus Bush"be planted outside in western Penna.?

Reply:I agree with the abover person. You can leave it out in the summer, but bring it in for the winter. I have a Rose of Sharon. It's a beautiful little shrub, and once it starts blooming, it has non-stop flowers til the autumn.
Reply:No it cannot. It will die over the winter.
Rose of Sharon looks similar, and it can grow outside in PA.
