I live in So Cal, and we have a warm climate most of the year. Last summer my tree began to lose leaves and looked dead. Then some of the leaves began to come back, and the flowers were very healthy. It never got really full and beautiful again, but it didn't look so dead. Now this spring, it is again dead looking. It looks worse than ever. There are just a few leaves, and some flowers at the ends of the branches, but only a few. This is a tall tree beside my driveway in the front yard, and it makes my yard look very unkempt! What should I do? Can I save this tree?
I think my hibiscus tree might be dying...?
The problem is we have had frost the past two years....something we rarely have. Hibiscus is a tropical plant that does not like frost. I cut mine back this past winter and it is looking better this spring.
Reply:it def sounds unhappy, you need to scratch the wood and see if it's still green underneath, if it is then it's definitly still alive. it may been a good feed and or water? can you see any sign of bugs or fungus?
