Hi! I have a beautiful hibiscus tree (early mother's day gift) and it was doing beautifully for the first week in my house next to a huge window but all of a sudden the leaves are drooping and no longer shiny. It is still in the small plastic base it came in and I just set it in a prettier plant pot (lined with plastic). Perhaps the roots aren't breathing enough? Should I have taken the tree out of the plastic base it came in a re-planted it in the bigger (prettier) pot? ANY help is appreciated!
My Hibiscus Tree isn't doing so well...can you help?
Hibiscus like it dry, with no draughts. Also they like their roots bound. They don't like direct hot sun.The problem with your plant is it has come from a regulated greenhouse into your home. The plant is adjusting to the temperature in your house. Also watch watering it.The soil needs to fairly dry.Only water when top of soil is dry.
Reply:it needs full sun and ALOT of drainage especially if the leaves turned yellow or brown.
if you dont have a yard then you need to get a big pot break up some rocks or concrete and put int he bottom before planting and use light soil not top soil or cow manure. water it and let it be in full sun.
